Fire Generator is inappropriate?

I don't really see how fire is inappropriate, or for what reasons my project was removed. As far as I know, chemical reactions are not offensive or violent. If people flagged it as inappropriate because I have too many frontpage projects, that is not how you solve the problem. I'd like to know the official reason it was taken off of the website and if I could have it reactivated.

Also, is there any way you can cut back from having all of my projects in top viewed? Everytime I look 3 of my projects are there and it's making me feel bad that other people can't have their projects up there too. I don't want to stop using Scratch, I just want to see some other people's work up there.

EDIT: My project has been restored.

Re: Fire Generator is inappropriate?

Sorry to hear that your project has been deemed "inappropriate" by some group of people.  It is my understanding that the Scratch Team reviews all projects that are removed by the flagging system and restores ones that were removed for the wrong reasons.  So I expect it will be restored in time.

As for monopolizing the front-page - it does seem to be a fairly common pattern that one person suddenly gets "discovered" and their projects take over the front page for a while.  I'm not sure that the problem is serious enough to require a design change though.  What do you think?

I'm sure your project will be back online. I gave it a love-it because I liked the way you used all kinds of funky-named variables to make the project draw a fire. There was nothing inappropriate about it at all, so just hang on!

Haha, those names weren't supposed to be funky! Well, squigglemod I guess, but that's because I didn't know what else to call it. I really should go make some 1.3 stuff now though, now that lists are available.

Re: Fire Generator is inappropriate?

The same thing happened to AddZero's spinning 3D Scratch tank, which was restored. Since your project is very interesting and about as violent as the weather channel, I assume it's just users who are mad it made the front page.

Why should they be mad? ITS AWESOME! I am kinda tired of it too, but flagging is not the way to deal with it.
