Failed: unknown reason message when uploading

I am getting a Failed: unknown reason message when uploading projects to the website.  I'm using Scratch as a teaching tool in my classroom, and need to know if there are any FTP port requirements for the uploads.  Our tech team is trying to determine if the problem is with our school firewall, with the port requirements, or with the Scratch program.

Any feedback would be welcomed; thanks.

Re: Failed: unknown reason message when uploading

Hi, 901.

I'm sorry you are having problems uploading projects from your classroom. Unfortunately, many schools use a "web proxy" server as part of their firewall, and Scratch cannot be configured to use a proxy server.

(In case it helps, Scratch uses the HTTP port, port 80, for uploading projects. It does not use FTP.)

Perhaps the school firewall can be configured to allow direct port 80 connections to scratch.mit.edu.

If you find a solution, please share it! I'm sure many other teachers would like to know.
