Is that just me or does Scratch really close without saving my file?
Scenario:
Open file
Add some action
Quit Scratch
It asks if "Want to quit scratch now" but it always asks it.
If I say yes it just quits without telling me I have unsaved changes.

Hi szabgab,
you're right: It's important to point out, that you should save your project before quitting Scratch.
The windows version of Scratch always asks if you want to quit, regardless of changes in the current project. The Mac version and the XO version only ask this if there are modifications in the current project, which may need to be saved. Every version of Scratch has had this mechanism, so it's not something introduced in the new (1.3) release.

... but you're getting the warning all right, you're just getting it *every* time , so I wouldn't call it a bug (just an inconvenience). Scratch doesn't let you quit accidentally and forces you to contemplate if you have anything that you would like to save first.
I agree, though, that it would be nice to be getting that "do you really want to quit" dialog only in case of pending data loss.

BTW I have forgotten to say but I am using 1.3 on Windows.

Actually, people have complained about this many times. I agree with you...it is not standard behavior for modern software. And it's resulted in lost time for me and many others. I think it's a bug and should be fixed.

My point is then that the warning is about quiting.
It does not say I am going to lose data if I quit.
Of course you cannot tell the user s/he has unsaved files as this popup will be
shown even after s/he saved the file so s/he won't trust scratch any more.
Why not just fix it?

Thanks for the concern.
This has not been an easy one to fix. We have finally figured out what it takes to do this fix, and will include it in the next Scratch release.
Thank you!
