Or, in english, Happy New Year! Pronounced GUONG-HAY-FOUGHT-CHOY. I kept saying Gun-Hay-Fat-Choy, and two of my many Chinese friends got mad at me. xD
Do you do anything for Chinese New Year? Almost all the Chinese kids were out today, and, where I go to school, that's a lot. One of my friends gave me a red envelope with $5 in it. Apparently she got $200! Dx Lucky Asians. xP
Meh, you guys do anything special today besides go to school?

I just got home from school and made it. :3
@wiimaster: meh, I should tell my friend that, and she's fluent in chinese. She'll be so embarrassed. xD

She probably knew what it meant and thought you knew what it meant. The phrase is still used as a sort of "Happy New Year!"

Yep, pretty much, I guess. People kept saying it to everyone, and my friends were trying to help me get rid of my American accent, because they are teaching me Chinese.
That's why they got mad when I said it wrong.

No, I didn't know it was chinese new year until some asian kids started shouting about it at lunch.
