Here is the central place to talk about the upcoming handheld, the Nintendo 3DS.
THE PROS:
I think it's going to be great. With an entire variety of launch titles (including an Ocarina of Time remake!
), this console will be off to a great start. It's got backwards compatibilty too! The 3D autostereocopy visuals look awesome and I can't wait to see them myself. It's also got Virtual Console, so you can download Game Boy and Game Boy Color games! The 3DS looks a lot like a portable Wii, except it's got the 3D visuals and all...
THE CONS:
First of all. The price. $250? You've gotta be kidding me. 250 bucks for a handheld. If it's THAT much, it better come with a game or even some preinstalled titles or I'll throw a FIT!
Also, there's the battery life. 3-5 hours for 3DS games. 5-8 hours for DS games (depending on brightness). Really. And it takes 3 and a half hours to charge. Seriously. That short of a battery life is just simply...an insult. I'm actually still a little skeptical about buying this thing because of the battery life. It's nowhere near as close as the regular DS, DS Lite, and DSi battery life. So, if you're looking for a handheld game console with hours of battery life so you'll have hours of gameplay, go with the DS Lite or DSi. If you still want those 3D visuals, however, go with the 3DS.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So that's what I have to say about the console. I'm really hyped for it still, but I'm a little hesitant about getting it because of the freakishly short battery life.
Discuss your opinions about the upcoming Nintendo 3DS all right here.

You also have to pay extra when you buy a game for it to be used in 3D, but I'm not sure that's official. But here's an official statement: People 6 and under shall not use the 3D mode, as it is said to hurt developing vision. One pro, however, is that you can transfer DSi Ware stuff to the 3DS! I'm not sure if it stays on the DSi, though.

ACTUALLY it's 3-5 with 3D effect ON on 3DS games and 5-8 for DS and 3DS games with no 3d on.

Actually, there is, I think. Three of them, I believe! Meanwhile, I'm really excited for it. It looks epic!

I can't wait for it!
And they're also coming out with the Skyward Sword. Unfortunately, I think it's the same cell-shaded Toon Link

It's adult link that's cell shaded. Not Toon Link.

I don't know if I should stay with my Dsi XL or get a 3DS...
Which do you think?

Keep the DSi.
Just in case it doesn't emulate DS that well...

It's up to you. If you don't care about 3D or any of that, just stick with the XL. Or, you could play the 3D games in 2D, but...

Better graphics, 3D gaming, 3d photos, actual good games not made by nintendo, miis and virtual reality.
what do you think.
