Need help: I am trying to make a first game. I want to make a good impression so people keep on looking at my projects. Any advice?

as Bobby500 said, most poeple are right now intersted in imitations of games they have played, also the graphics are VERY immportant, if a game doesnt look good you're probably not going to want to play it if you want sprites from cool games go here
