Mario's last name is Apeski. That's a super super rare one. And people saying it's "Mario Mario" and "Luigi Mario", it was called Super Mario Brothers simply because Mario was the "main" brother.

Isn't that their job to tell them if the game is fun or not AND test bugs? Then again, it's a rumor. Also, I don't think they got the name Mario that way, but I can't remember how they did.
