I have a question. What type of "graphical effects" can you add? Apart from the general scratch effects of color, mosaic, transparency, etc. could you...
-stretch/flatten the shape?
-add a face to the sprite, to make it like a character?
-make the sprite much larger/smaller without using the scratch size system (due to minimum and maximum limits and bad appearance in some situations)?
-(added) change the axis of the costumes?
-(added) change certain colors of the sprite not allowed by "color effect" (ex. changing the white in the ball to a different contrasting color like say, blue?)
Those are just a couple that I have came up with. There's probably some others.Hi Lucario621,
Good questions. The intent of the project is to use all of the sprites as they are in color and shape (feel free to resize) at some point in the project. That does not mean that they have to stay the same way for the entire project.
Basically, everyone should be able to tell how each project used the same three sprites in creative, original ways. Think about it as making others able to recognize that you rose to the challenge - everyone should be able to see the yellow spotted ball, the blue/aqua pinwheel, the black squiggle. Changing the size or the axis will still allow people to spot the original images, so those don't matter (unless it's too small to see).
Of course, so long as they're all in the project *at some point,* you can change them, make additional costumes, add graphic effects, etc. elsewhere in the project.
As an example of what you can do, we made this project: http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/stareyes/1525974
As you can see, we used the ball to make flowers but you can still tell the original shape of the ball. The twist was used to stamp/turn/shrink and it became another image but the original image was used.
So be creative but at some point make sure the viewer can recognize the three original shapes/colors of the sprites.
Hope that helps.
Ok - thanks!

It doesn't look like you can change your members at the moment. I think that feature is going to be added on later.

Are we allowed to add things onto the sprouts as long as they are still recognizable? ie- spikes?

Yep you can, as long as you can still tell what it is at some point in your project.

Yes, there's no easy way to change members right now. For now, if you need to make a change to your Collab, such as members, you will need to fill out the registration form again. Make sure to add a note in the form that this overwrites a previous entry.

1 question:
On what criteria will the projects be judged?

When the deadline for submissions is on Feb. 9, does that mean that it has to be submitted before Feb. 9?
Because I submitted mine on Feb. 9, and it's not up.

Hi everyone!
Sorry to keep everyone waiting. The Scratch Team is currently reviewing all the Collab Challenge projects and we have decided to push the featuring of projects by a few more days to Monday, March 14. There are many projects to review and we want to give each one proper attention. Thanks again for all of your submissions. We have been enjoying looking through each one. The featured projects will appear in the Curator section of the homepage.
