Everyone has a story of how they discovered this website! Here's mine :
Everyone who downloaded Scratch should have the Getting Started PDF thingy. I was 9, knew NOTHING about all this techy stuff and I thought it was an Internet thing. I looked up "Scratch" on Google. I saw this site, yet I didn't think it was this one. I clicked on another, and I ended up on a DJ academy website! I looked on 4 more sites, they were still DJ academy
I finally decided to come on this website, and I was like "Hey Daddy?" and he said "Yeah?". I asked if I could join, and he said tomorrow. It was 11:09.
I went to bed, woke up early, and signed up. I didn't like the picture, so I changed it to a camel
I was in the New Members list. I was so confused, I just clicked on any project.
What's YOUR story?

I was in a TAG class called Project: S.E.E.K. for the summer, and I took Lego Robotics. Also included was this "game/animation/music/simulation-making programming language!" I had to've been 8 at the time, so I didn't know much about this stuff, so I made random games and animations, testing out the blocks. I also liked to click on random projects. After I'd turned 9, I saw an option called "forums." I decided to check it out. I found it cool, and found a few tutorials on there. Then I got addected to the forums.

Long story short - teacher introduced Scratch in a programming class, told us that there was a website where we could download other people's projects and look at their code. Joined the website a few days later, and here I am.

Learnt it in school as an introduction into programming. Joined over a year later.
My site Offline
Heard about the forums through my brother. Oh, yeah, and I don't use the site or program often

When I was like 7 I often typed random words into google and did Scratch (I probably spelled it skrach or something
). Later I downloaded the program but only made pictures (terrible) with it. In 2009 someone mentioned the name 'scratch' and I remembered it. Then in mid 2010 I looked at it, downloaded it, and found the website things. A few months later I found the forums.

My fifth grade teacher recommended it when we had a meeting to decide whether I should skip fourth grade (I did). I made some really n00bish projects for a while, and I rediscovered it aboutd a year ago and started making good games. And that's my story.

My 4th grade teacher told me about it, so I asked my mom if I could try it out, and here I am.

okay, here it goes. my boring story ill be lucky if people skim through, lol
in 2007 i was 11 years old, and I use to use Microsoft powerpoint to make games with my friends and stuff. anyway, one day one of my friends (Ozpeter) starts bragging about making a really cool and awesome and fun bowling game with some program i kept forgetting the name of.
anyway, one day my brother randomly decides to start emu'ing a '98 cricket game on my PC. while it's downloading, he says something like "can you think of any cool sites to go on" and im like "um no" (something less corny then that obviously, get off my back) and then he leaves the room and i decide to search for the program my friend was talking about. after numours searches like "stitch" and stuff like that, i finally googled something like "basic game maker" and wut do you know, first option is scratch.
the first thing i did was the tutorial. i was just like "WOW THIS IS TO HARD." by the next day i had successfully complete my first project, creatively titled "My First Project." which was a blue dot that moved left and right, but not up and down, and span around.
it received about 3 views and a comment from andresmh welcoming me to the website. eventually all my friends from school (Hobo_Man, badword and candyman) joined the website and we made a company called "VG Extreme," which had DRAMA, DRAMA AND MORE DRAMA.
they all left after a few months and (almost) 4 years later, here i am.
and that's about it. lol

My grandparents knew I was into coding, so they found an article about 5 really simple programs to code with. Scratch was the first and only I looked at.
Of course, a Mortal Kombat game as a first project.....does anyone still happen to have it? I really want to play it again.
I don't use the program much anymore. It's limiting to me. (and the fact that I forget how to do simple things too)

Umm..My cousin was in a videogame class for a program called fusion. I wanted to be just like him so I asked my mom to go to the same camp. She didn't, but I was put in a scratch class and my first project was a maze game.

In 5th grade gifted (man, that feels like forever ago), one of our options for a project was to make a game in Scratch. I didn't do it then, but my friend did, and after he presented his game, a lot of people in our gifted class made accounts. I made this one, and then started using Scratch!

Mine is really short:
My favorite board game is the game of life. I had downloaded the free trial onthe spongebob game of life but it came to an end. So i serched "the game of life for free online" and i clicked on a link. It was a scratch project but i was totaly confused by it. So i looked at the website and noticed you could sign up for it. So i did, then forgot all about it. Much later,i got back on not remembering the site and trying to sign up with jenefer4,but it said there was alredy an account called that. I thought somone had stole my username for a while (sighning up for scratch with this account) untill finnaly i cliked on sign up so i could make a spare account, and it told me i alredy had 2 accounts, one jenefer4 and one jfmlove6. then i was like ._..

I was working on my latest ruin excavation when I discovered a tablet not unlike the Rosetta stone that held a web address
Upon usage, it led me to a page with photos of binary
After several days of typing the binary it decoded to another web address
Youfail.org
So I searched for the most common usage of the address and found this site
