Sanitarium Software

I am also looking for a few good programmers that would like to be a part of something.  Sanitarium Software is the name of the company that my friend and I would like to someday officially start.  We would really like to be involved with some new faces and just have a nice, laid back atmosphere in which we can communicate and collaborate.  If you're looking for something to do, can't come up with any ideas, or need some help, let me know and I will do what I can for you, and if you're interested in becoming a part of something, Sanitarium Software may just be the right fit for you.  Let me know, and happy Scratching!

PS. I just like to make high quality games, and, being relatively new to Scratch, would like to talk with some advanced users about possible collaboration projects.

Thanks,
Soccrplyer4life13

Re: Sanitarium Software

eh...I guess I wouldn't call mine a company...but rather a common tag for programmers that work together...it's just a dream of mine that it becomes a real company in the future.

Re: Sanitarium Software

How many of the collaborations have actually created anything?
I know that Homemade Inc has (they have their own gallery).
Perhaps it's easier to get people to join a group if the group has already shown itself to be producing worthwhile things that people would like to be associated with.

Other than that, I'm looking for people who want to help create more, but I understand what you're saying.

Re: Sanitarium Software

Guess I'm in the same boat as you Eyra, nobody feels like collaborating with me, guess I'm too new and don't have enough projects to show the world.  I will get on that.

Re: Sanitarium Software

Well I don't know what I'm good at.  I have a game that I was working on but I ran into a bug.

Well start brainstorming!

Re: Sanitarium Software

What was the game that you were working on and what was the bug, and I'll see if I can help out.

This is the link:     http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/pedroskivich/31326

You can shoot at the enemies but once they start shooting at you they are invincible. You probably would have to download the game to see what I mean. The script might be confusing so mabye you would play the game first to see what doesn't work.

Re: Sanitarium Software

I will take a look at it tonight for you, i can't look at the code while i'm at work, but when i get home i'll look at it, my guess would just be that you need to hide the enemies once they've been touched by the laser's explosion or something like that, but i'll take a look at it tonight.  If you wanted to check out my Contra game, see if you can find a good way for me to make that background scroll, i can't seem to find a full proof way.

Try Mayhems gallery. He has made some real nice solutions that he offers.

Re: Sanitarium Software

lol, thank you for the suggestion, but from everything that I've seen, my background will be much more complex than most of the examples that are out there, I'm trying to seamlessly string together about 20 different images.  I've had glimpses of it working, then glimpses of really bad bugs, so I dunno, I need some people to actually look at it and help me to come up with a solution.  I can't do anything while i'm at work here, but tonight i'm gonna keep working on it and see if i can get it working myself, but thank you again for the suggestion and yes, there are many good examples out there for either repeating or simple scrolling.  mine is just more complex. (added is the fact that the images aren't as wide as the stage)

Re: Sanitarium Software

You should really take a look at Mayhems gallery. I'm very sure his stuff is pretty much the best if you want a margin to implement more resource heavy elements. The guy is very good.

Re: Sanitarium Software

I know, I talk to Mayhem, it's just a little bit different implementation, but again, thank you for suggesting it.  If Mayhem wanted to look at my code and tell me what I'm doing wrong, I would not be opposed to it either.
