Re: The 2007 movement

Okay, as many people have said, 2011 is not looking to be a good year for Scratch. People are quitting, insulting, trolling, and one person even considered SUICIDE because of what is going on! Just insulting someone as a joke may seem harmless, but it really does hurt people. This just is ridiculous the way it's going! So I want to start a movement that does SOMETHING to help this catastrophe that is now known as Scratch! I call it the 2007 movement, modeling it after the year 2007 on Scratch, where everyone knew each other and was nice. I'm not looking for anything huge that changes Scratch. I just want you to be nice to people, instead of leaving mean comments. Also, some people quit because they don't get any views. Well, comment on people's projects, suggesting some improvements and leaving something nice about what they did. I know, there will always be trolls, but we can help a little bit! Please, help to change Scratch, even if just a little bit.

Re: The 2007 movement

No support.

First of all, who cares if people quit from no views?
Secondly, a suicide in scratch? This may seem serious, but think of how many people are on the site. At least one person must be somewhat insane or something.

Quitting? Get over it. Seriously, there's not much else to say about that.

That project has to do with the fact that it's a quality project and it was made in '07.

Re: The 2007 movement

I think that this is slightly ridiculous.

Here's my reasons:

1) It's the Internet. And this is a big site, too. There's 705,886 and counting users, so some of them are going to be trolls. No big deal. Hit the report button, and the story is done.

2) Yes, it was sad to watch TheExplodingCheez & ToxicQuills quit. They will be dearly missed. But Scratchers come and go. People have lives beyond Scratch, so we shouldn't be saying anything begging them to come back. We should just wish them good luck, and move on.

3) About the suicide issue... that's not really about Scratch. It's just that he/she was suffering of depression and considering suicide, and quit Scratch because of it.

4) This "back in the old days Scratch wasn't a scum-filled rathole" stuff makes you sound like an grumpy old man. No offense, but that's the honest truth.

So you guys are just making a huge deal out of practically nothing. While I miss some people, and am a little bit mad about the spam, it's pretty extremist to start a "movement".

LISTEN UP KIDDOS
THE INTERNET IS A CRUEL AND UNFORGIVING PLACE
okay?
if you arent getting any views, advertise your projects, or get over it and make projects for fun
if you are planning on quitting, good for you, dont turn it into a sob story- were sorry someone left a bad comment on one of your projects, some people are like that
please dont commit suicide just cuz someone was feeling cranky and dissed your project, you are obviously a better person than they are (unless you do it as well)
