I had a epiphany last night and it enabled me to develop a program which geneterates 3D maps.
I split the code over two projects to make it easy to follow.
The projects turn black and white images into 3D terrain. Because Scratch isn't that fast Turbo mode is needed for the image to list converter. Here is an image of what it does.
You can find the image to list project here.

And the list to 3D terrain here.

Remember to download and run it Turbo Mode.
Note Big images will take ages to convert to list. To make the conversion quicker put the image in the top left corner. Then the project doesn't have look as long to find where the image starts.
The 3D generated terrain can be put into any project. Look for updates soon. If someone wants to make the camera rotate then go a head.
Note It was going to take ages to get all the shades between black and white so the 3D map might not look 100% the same.
A good image size would be less than 150 x 150

creating geological map transections to achieve knowledge of rock strata/formation between two locations.. to say find about nature of a particular fault line is something i would be interested in..not just the surface terrain.
and have you used terragen and heard of dem files..which are importable into terragen..
so creating landscape..whether that be a landscape here on earth, the moon , mars..
or any other planet in the solar system..
