Hi.
You know what? I hate 2011. Because look, everyone is quitting.
For example, look at this
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/TheExpl … ez/1547576
Now, look at this:
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/ToxicQuillz/1554104
It might look like the year of quitting, but you don't know how serious this is.
Shortly after TQ's quit, UniversalSmahser caused what may be the trigger of the death of scratch.
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Univers … er/1554261
In case you didn't know: UniversalSmasher wants to take his own life because of this. Quite honestly, if that happens and his parents found out that the quitting of a user caused this, Scratch will be sued.
If that happens, so long. It's been great with you dudes.

for an 8 year old trying to get attention.
Well, UniversalSmasher proberbly isn't joking. His project screams "Possible event about to happen". You need to take it into perspective however and make sure this isn't unbalenced. One side is the results if it happens, the second is if people encourage him not to and he listens (There is even a project petition that I just had to join. MYHFC is just awesome.
), and the third one is if he said that as a cruel joke. I doubt it would be the third one, because that would be cold-hearted.

People come and go. Just forget about the old and ignore the new.

I doubt he/she is gonna kill him/herself. It just seems idiotic.

Well, I've told UniversalSmasher not to kill herself, though I doubt they would anyway.

I think for the last one, Scratch was a minor contributing factor to their depression and we'll hope for the best that suicide will be put out of the question.
Others quitting is not an occasion for sadness. They've left for newer aspects and allow new potential Scratchers to get a share of the limelight.

I agree. In fact, I can't think of any reason people would do suicide. Because it's just blank after that.

I understand that religious content isn't allowed on scratch and that's also no reason to make fun of the Lord Jesus Christ's name like that. It's offensive to me. Please discontinue it or tone it down or something.
I don't believe in any of these scratch death hoaxes, and if they turn out to be real, I am sorry. However they will not. This is just some scratch Drama or more better described as internet drama. This person is being melodramatic and possible attention seeking by saying they will commit suicide on Scratch. In any case, their parents should be phoned or emailed. And in the case of MyHFC, I thought she was just grounded?

Are you forgetting Rhy, FloatingMagicTree, Colkadome, and all those other people who came back?
Edit: Since I'm so cynical, I think that person just wants attention.

He came on, said he's through with this, and then quit forever, to my knowledge.

Whatever is going on in this user's life clearly extends beyond losing friends on Scratch, and if they're for real, there's not a whole lot we can do besides being encouraging to them. So thanks to everyone who posted something nice on this project! As is always the case on the Internet, we can't really tell how serious they are, so it's best to just continue being polite and supportive.
