Umm...wouldn't Kinect be a rip-off of PS-Eye? A device thats been around before the original Xbox was even around?

According to Wikipedia the Playstation Eye came out in 2007, the eye-toy which was its predecessor (spelling?) came out in 2003. The Xbox came out in 2001... so... basicly you got your dates wrong. But Kinect may have been inspired by Playstation eye... I've had no experience with it.

But seeing as the PS-eye has only 1 camera, whereas the Kinect has 2, they may either have enhanced the idea or may not have been inspired at all by it. Maybe someone should go ask Microsoft about it to get the real answer?

First, I meant Eye-Toy and PS-Eye, as I thought they were the same. Sorry about the date mix up, and Microsoft wouldn't admit to borrowing an idea just like Sony wouldn't admit that Move is a Wii Rip-off. There's nothing wrong with being inspired by someones success, because thats what pushes people to do more. But at the same time if people are gonna debate about "rip-offs", they need to analyze things.

After comparing dates of releases, Nintendo released the NES (Which is different from all the previous game consoles before it due to it not ust being a plug-and-play type console) in 1983, whereas the Playstation was released in 1994. So unless it took Sony 9 years to make their own copy of it and not be sued, they didn't copy them.

Well... this is probably either inspired or copied actualy, Wii was released in 2006, and the Playstation move was released in 2010. Either they're slow, or just came up with after a while.
