Maybe it'd sound better if it said "link to profile" or something.

Of course you can just copy/paste the URL into the adress bar.

There are many ways it could come in handy!

Sample user one: I want to see [username]'s stuff, but I just can't find that person!

Sample user two: Oh, you mean this person? (link to user)

Sample user one: No, not that person, I mean [username]

Sample user two: I don't know who you're talking about... :S

Sample user three: I know who you mean! Here, (link to user)

Sample user one: That's the person! Yay! Also, if you like that person's projects, then you might like, (link to user)

There were times in the past when I wanted it, I'm sure... but I don't remember why.

An example of good use would be to link to someone's profile that contained many projects of a wanted type:
