If talking about the home page: There was a suggestion somewhere that involved you being able to check boxes, deciding which rows and such you wanted to appear on the front page - that would be near a solution, but the boxes on the right side (stuff like tag lists, links to the blog, links to the wiki) would still take up space.

If talking about the forum home: It used to be longer; hiding the archived forums (you can still get to them via the Jump To menu at the bottom of the page) helped...

If talking about forum thread (also called topic) pages: You can change your display settings in the Profile section. It'll change the amount of posts displayed at once, usually changing the page length - but then again, it'll still be long if the few posts displayed are all full of lengthy text.

If talking about the wiki: Not all articles are long. :-)

I fall: It's a tragedy. You fall: It's comedy.
Hmph enjoy your fall - I get a lovely spring... without pans of new leaves.

Re: longness of pages

You could search for particular parts of the page - with all the web browsers I've used, you just have to hit the "F3" key on your keyboard. Type in the word or phrase you want to find, then hit the enter key - it should take you straight to it.

If you just want to scroll straight to the bottom, you could hit the "end" key on your keyboard. To scroll straight to the top, you can use the "home" key ^^
