What do you do when a user (normally a new or not popular one) dowloads your project, and then reposts it on the website with out chaging anything like you are supposed to in a remix? I've had this happen to me at least twice, and both times for my "-Inator Creator" project. When this happened, i asked to user politley to remove the project and tried to explain the remix thing. Both times, they have removed the project, but not before responding to my comment. So, i never got to see the comment...

So what are you supposed to do?

yeah, but it just annoys me. i mean i worked hard on the project and i apprecate that they like my project but i don't like that they are reposting it. if it was a true remix it would be ok but they both changed nothing.... the most recent one had already gotten 12 views!

If they do it, it usually says who made the original one.

ok so the most recent user who did this didn't take it down.... here's what has been said so far:

I think you're doing just the right thing. Ask them politely to add their own ideas to the remix or delete the project since exact copies are not permitted. If the person doesn't follow those instructions, you can flag the project.

It's possible that new users just want easy access to the project...or are just experimenting with the Share button. You can explain that they can make a gallery or add to Favorites if they want to be able to get to the project quickly.

I agree with Paddle2See. Keep doing what you're doing, but maybe ask them to make a few changes and upload it as an actual remix.

Eh, a project currently on the front page is a remix of a wall jumping engine of mine, without any mention of credit and no "based on ____" sign beneath, yet I still support remixing.

Just ask politely if they can credit you for your work.

That seems to be the project with the most remixes without credit. I've seen, like, five.

What really bugs me is when someone does that and people give them credit. That happened with my Night Ninja Demo on my test account.

I try and be as polite as I can and request they mention me and credit me in the project notes, but when that doesn't work, I can always flag the project.

yeah. the most recent one didn't try to take credit.... he/she is just mad at someother scratchers who have apparently ripped him/her off. hmm
