Oh cool, reminds me of Tyrian. It's an awesome game, if you like old games from the 90s you must look it up 
There's also an iPhone app and various other ports 
But yeah, it must be hard as hell. The guy playing makes it look easy though xD

Wait, imagine this boss with the polarity-switching gameplay of Ikaruga. 
THAT would be all hell breaking loose, in a video game.
