Hi! I'm also new. I'm relatively new to Scratch, but it's so easy to pick up! I also love the way you guys are treating new members. It's great! I have a couple projects, but I'll need to post them.

Hello! My name is... Marvel Man. I heard of this site on another forum and decided to try it out. I'm really into animation, so I hope I can make some stories with Scratch (I took the tour, but I have yet to try out the program).
Anyways, hey, what's up?Hey MarvelMan, welcome to Scratch!
Scratch can definitely be used for making animations, as well as other things like games or simulations. One of the great things about Scratch is that all projects uploaded to the Scratch website for download, so you an download a Scratch animation program to study it and see how it works. If you need any help with designing a project in Scratch, feel free to drop by the All About Scratch forums, and someone there will be able to help you.
Thanks. I really like this whole community vibe the whole site seems to have. Everything looks pretty friendly and easy to understand, so thanks again.

Hi, I'm not so new here.Once upon a time, I had a different account on Scratch, but it got deleted somehow.(sadness) But that was a VERY,VERY,VERY,VERY long time ago and I'm not really sure how the new version of Scratch works.I need some tips.I like to draw on Scratch, but it is hard.If anyone has any suggestions on how to make Scratch drawing easier, please let me know. Thanks!
Also, like no one has commented on ANYTHING in my galleries! Please view them and let me know what you think! It makes me feel like no one likes them when no one says anything.

Welcome MarvelMan! Yeah, this is a really community-oriented site. It's really friendly to newbies and I'm sure you'll have fun on the forums! If you have any question, simple or C-O-M-P-L-E-X, you can ask others, and you'll definitely get a good answer - we're all here, willing to help.
So yeah, hi everyone!
@Wild_Wolfie: Oh, hey! Chatter is fairly famous around here, I bet you'll follow in your sister's footsteps. I like your name too; reminds me of Wolfie1996, the moderator. They're quite similar

Hey guys I'm new to this whole thing and so far it's pretty awesome but I just have a few quick questions if someone can help me out.
1) what are the galleries because I was looking at one saying something about an rpg and I love rpgs and am working on my own right now so I'd love to play some of the other ones on here
2) How do you create a scrolling background maybe if you could just link me to a good example of it in a game or something then I can probably download it and figure it out myself
thanks

Welcome, elcian. Galleries are groups of projects. Some galleries allow anyone to put projects in, some have restrictions on who can place projects in. You can go to projects in a gallery that you are currently viewing by clicking on them, just like on the front page. There is a nice tutorial of how to make a scrolling platformer here. There is another, simpler example of a scrolling background in the "Examples" section of Scratch; when you are opening a project, click on examples, then on the games folder, and there should be a list of projects, one of which is what you want (I think its called "ScrollingDemo").

Hi, Im new (as u may hav seen b4) this may sound stupid but when I want my animations to move i put the move thingy in the script, but when i play it bk they stay still untill the end where they only move 1 step. Plz help!!!! xxx

Hi FlowerPower55! Once every script in a program ends, everything stays still. However, it is much more likely you'll get help if you are more specific in what you are doing. You could upload what you have, for instance.

Hi! I signed up for the scratch community about 7 months ago. I have been adding lots of new projects, but no one seems to know I'm there. Just a 'Head's Up' to whoevers out there. I own a gallery called JN Fun Stuff. Feel free to look me up.
