I found another image!
Sorry it's kind of crude, I had to take a screenshot from a PDF file. But it's still that version!
And another!
Another screenshot from a PDF, but now it's much more clear!
This image is a screenshot from the .image from March 16, 2004! It says it in the PDF.
A right click image.
A color selection palette.Where did you get the PDF?
From here. Scroll down to "papers" and you will find some PDFs with old Scratch pictures. There are a lot more images, I just took the important ones.
and if you bother to read it, you might see that scratch 0.1 was started in 2003!

I emailed the scratch team, and this is the response I got:
Wow...interesting picture! I've been working with Scratch since version 1.1 and this must be even older than that. I suspect that it's one of the pre-release versions.

It sort of looks like a version of scratch for young kids.

andresmh should look at this image. Or maybe Paddle2See. I think they have been on the Scratch Team for a long time, so they might know about this, and they might even have the .image file!

Andresmh. Paddle2see lives in Maine and was promoted after scratch was already released.

Zombie Cats sighted in 1.2!
Okay, I'm not sure it's a bug, but it is kind of strange. Maybe it's been there all along and I just never noticed it. But try this:
1. Open Scratch with no project
2. Take the scissors and delete the cat sprite (the only sprite in the project). The cat
will disappear from the stage, as it should.
3. Click on the paintbrush to make a new sprite. The cat REAPPEARS on the stage! You may have to slide the paint editor over to see it but it is there. I killed it yet it lives! If you then exit the painte editor, the cat is gone. Freaky.
I found it on the very first announcement

A .pdf I found from http://llk.media.mit.edu/papers/ScratchSneakPreview.pdf talks about version 0.2 coming up.

Read these, they have very old versions, when scratch was being developed. For years.

It looks like it would be fun to make a scratch mod that's based on Scratch 0.1.

Sounds right to me
I also noticed the reporters direction, x position, and y position aren't at the bottom of all the motion blocks like they are in 1.4 and that they used xpos and ypos instead of x position and y position.

I think so.
It looks kind of old........
