I found iron but not diamonds (then again, I haven't dug more - and I'm not that far below the ground anyway). I'm taking some with a bucket for awesome illumination purposes

It's a wood farm. Just plant another tree, they don't take too much to grow if you put a torch adjacent to it. If it's not enough just plant 4 adjacent to the same torch

PROTIP: As of the Beta 1.2 update, putting a log in a furnace gives you charcoal - which works the same as normal coal.

Great, we're still a tiny village with no defenses and we already struck diamond    I was thinking, since we're surrounded by hills, we can build a wall or put some cacti on these hills, and if we ever have to exit the village we can either go through a gate or go out by boat
