Re: Creating real OS - good devs are welcome! (asm, c, c++)

If you just create a linux distro it's much easier.

It's so interesting how visibly little you know about coding, OSes or coding OSes yet your continued enthusiasm to do it when you really can't.

Scratch doesn't make you a master coder.

And what will you do if he actually does make it?

You're right about that.  tongue

He won't. If he does it'll be barebones command line with like 2 commands

Seriously. Learn some coding yourself, or stop talking trash.

Back in my day.... there were no laws that censored the internet... now, there are.... nah.

RHY, no one underestimates you as a Scratcher. Your projects are simply amazing. But when it comes to coding in "real" languages I believe I know more than you will ever do.

You are probably right, I wont make it. This thread was just to see how many people were interested and eventually make some really basic TUI kernel -- Probably based on an MSDOS startup disk. But that doesn't mean you should go away insulting people!

Thats ambitious. You need to be very assiduous to even think about making an OS!

But if you are assiduous, you will get it done.  smile

(I can't help though)

tongue  very encouraging, thanks.  wink
I probably won't make one ever. I've already made about 20 small ones in MSDOS, but nothing major. Not what everyone pictures as being an OS!

What's an OS? An operating system. A piece of software designed to run on hardware and operate it. I've made plenty  wink
