Ok, so I play two instruments (well... i play clairent and am self-teaching the piano) so this occured to me... When we select different instruments and the notes to play, does it play it in Concert key/pitch or in the key the instrument selected is? An example- Clarinet parts always say "For B♭ Clarient" but for piano parts, it just says "Piano" because it is in Concert Key/Pitch. So, my question is does the Scratch program transpose non-concert pitch instruments? Because a C on a clarient is NOT the same as a C on piano...

this probably will need to be answered by someone involved in the creation of scratch or a very musicaly oriented scratcher. i ask because it would be cool to take music i have and use scratch to make it

Since you play piano, you know treble and bass clef, right? Well, if you do, it is fairly easy to transpose from Bb (clarinets, trumpets, tenor and soprano saxes) or Eb (alto and bari saxes, some french horns) to C.
Here we go (sorry if my description is confusing):
Eb to C
If in treble clef, which it probably is, add 3 flats to the key signature and read it in bass clef. The end. For example, C in treble clef is E in bass clef. It gets a bit more complicated if there are accidentals. I can explain that if you want.
Bb to C
If in treble clef, add 2 flats to the key signature, move each note up 2 lines or spaces (ex: an A would move to the E space) and read it in base clef. Once again, it gets a bit more complicated with accidentals- I could explain, or you could come up with your own method, or do it by ear.
Or... you could use a transposition chart, but that's not nearly as fun. Of course, the are other methods of transposition if mine doesn't work for you.

Then just use that transposition chart I linked to. No bass clef necessary. If you don't like that one, Google for another.
