Trusted Scratcher

Perhaps another level for the forums...
New Scratcher
Scratcher
Trusted Scratcher
Community Moderator
Scratch Team

The bonuses of being a Trusted Scratcher would be:
A 30 second rule
Being able to delete others' posts in their topics

Anything else?

Re: Trusted Scratcher

Trusted Scratcher seems a little biased . . . maybe Old Scratcher, Experienced Scratcher, etc?

Now only using this account to post in Miscellaneous, but when Miss_Webgal becomes a Scratcher I'm ditching this account.

Well, what would the criteria be? Would the moderators and/or scratch team have to decide? I could just imagine all of the "WHY AM I NOT A TRUSTED SCRATCHER!?!?!" posts that would turn up 0_o I think the system we have works... Along with the fact that being able to delete others posts may lead to mini-modding *rereads* oh in the threads they create.... hm may work but people could get offended and whatnot if someone deletes their post.

Re: Trusted Scratcher

No...

60 seconds is already little enough - consider the time it takes to find something new to post and type the message.

Being able to delete others' posts... that is way too risky and should stay with the moderators and Scratch Team. It could also be used to cheat on polls and such.

The new ranking would start flames... you know, things like "HA HA I'M A TRUSTED SCRATCHER AND YOU'RE NOT"...

Sorry to sound so negative ^_^

Re: Trusted Scratcher

I think "trusted scratcher" shouldn't be added as a new rank. It's the same as being a "experienced Scratcher", like the time experience, etc.  tongue

Many "older" scratchers are oft banned and rude.  hmm

I'm glad to think that the community will always be kind and helpful, the language will always be a fun and easy way to be introduced into programming, the motto will always be: Imagine, Program, Share - Nomolos

Re: Trusted Scratcher

It seems rather unnecessary... if someone is trusted that much, they probably would be a mod already  tongue

Re: Trusted Scratcher

its just a suggestion.  i don't actually expect it, just something i was thinking a little about.

@Chricshb: but there aren't enough mod spots for everyone who is good to have a position.

Re: Trusted Scratcher

Another thing: be able to edit and delete their posts in closed topics.
And about bragging, they would be trusted not to brag. That would just remove their status as trusted.

Lol  tongue

I still feel like this would just make users quarrel over who got to be 'trusted' and who didn't...  hmm

Re: Trusted Scratcher

I have to agree that this would cause bickering and hard feelings. I think a user's registration date, post count, projects, and behavior speak for themselves pretty well.

Re: Trusted Scratcher

What if you were a Trusted Scratcher and suddenly started trolling and spamming? What does that say for the community if a 'Trusted' Scratcher is spamming up the forums?

Offending strangers since 2010.

Re: Trusted Scratcher

I really don't see any benefit this would have, not to mention the bickering it would likely cause. There have been many suggestions for rankings in the forums, all rejected for that reason. Just look at the post count wars. Those were just numbers, and people competed pretty fiercely.
