Have you tried: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Blender_3D:_Noob_to_Pro
This tutorial was the one I used to learn Blender. I'm still not great at it, but I'm alright. Nevertheless it's a good tutorial.
Also don't rush is a tip I give. I tried to go from total newb to trying to make 3D graphics for a game. I wouldn't suggest doing this if I was you.

Why not use like Illsutrator if you have it. Those Adobe paint programs (the expensive ones) have the 3D option for your image. It's really easy to create 3D in it, though again, it costs like 200 dollars for just illustrator

Illustrator is a vector imaging software, whilst Blender is a 3D modelling software.
You can't create 3D models in Illustrator - only 2D images or 2.5D images (2D that appear from one perspective 3D), whereas in Blender it is used to make 3D models that can be animated, looked at from all perspectives etc.
Also instead of Illustrator, Inkscape is an open source vector editing software. Does almost the same job.
