It relies of Micro$oft Windoze. Anyway, I'm on the Hamachi network. I also created a new network for WindozeNT Software. All WindozeNT Software devs can now be on the network, but it's password protected so it has no use until the WindozeNT Software site is up.

That is almost exactly what we are doing. We are booting the FreeDOS kernel, which then starts SIMPL. I have this working, but SIMPL isn't responding to the keyboard, and some of the batch commands in SIMPL are incompatible with FreeDOS.
As for the two programs, I don't see how the calc is an upgrade, it is actually confusing. We might add the website selector as an extension of the Website Opener.Good that we are using FreeDOS, because MS-DOS is still copyrighted.
Exactly. We don't want Bill Gates' army on our tail.*
@Windoze Everything you said is correct.
* I have nothing against Microsoft, or Bill Gates.

Since this thread has fallen to the 4th page and fire219 has failed to bump it, I think I will.

Hey, I know how to fix the problems with FreeDOS and all the bootable SIMPL-DOS problems with just 1 solution.
Well, either post it here or get on Hamachi!

bump.
Bootable SIMPL is almost ready!
You will use it by installing the the files to a floppy (might work with CDs or flashdrives), and then reboot the computer. You should keep the floppy/CD in the computer while rebooting. If after a few seconds, if you see something that says "FreeDOS kernel 2039", SIMPL is booting!

Booting SIMPL status update:
We have figured out that both problems mentioned above are linked to each other. The keyboard problem is that the FreeDOS kernel doesn't understand "set /p choice", which is the first thing that SIMPL uses when started that requires user input. We have found a work around for this and (some of) the other commands that aren't working.
You might want to also remove the website opener, cause bootable simpl is not going to be internet enabled.

SIMPL-DOS is a new version of DOS that is meant to make getting stuff done on the computer quick and easy, without constant lockups, or slow GUI's. It is made with Batch Processing, a very simple to learn programming language, that comes with Windows, MS-DOS, and FreeDOS.
Currently, SIMPL only works in Windows 2000 and above, but we are making a bootable version. It will be released by March 2011.
Everyone is free to make their own versions of SIMPL, just give us credit for the original code/idea. The website for it is http://simpldos.webs.com
Tell me here if you like it, have some cool ideas for it, want to join the Dev Team,or anything else!

Woah, that's alot of posts in a row, Fiat! I guess I need to give 3 answers/questions.
1) Technically, we could get it on the net, but it would take alot of fiddling with tons of DLLs and EXEs.
2) SIMPL could start even in MS-DOS 5.0, but it won't go any further than the first set /p. When you ran it in 98, did you try to run further than that first set /p?
3) I marked you as inactive because you disappeared from this thread for a long time.

I want to join. I have a programming language called ACMD, but I'm working solo. So I can help. I tried a compiler, and it recognizes commands, but it won't take input and output from the commands.
