Hm.... My strategy with cuss words in games is to have practically no reaction. I play a lot of Starcraft, which has a lot of cussing, and I can play it because of the minimal reaction. Then again, the gore in this game isn't that realistic and looks like a little red spot, because you're zoomed so far out. (It's an RTS where you control a lot of troops.)

Gore isn't blood. Gore is body parts flying all over the place!

Oh. There isn't much of that. (by the way, in SC2 1 of the 2 alien races has red blood, the other has none at all)

Well there is gore. The flood can sometimes detach body parts.

I was wondering what the blood/gore difference was. I thought it was all the same.

I've never been into most hunt-and-kill, beat-'em-up games, aside from Grand Theft Auto, but Halo is one of the greats in that genre.
EDIT: I remember last year when I was going toe-to-toe death match with a friend. I was always the one getting massacred, but I'm used to the controller of PS2, not Xbox 360.

The multiplayer is like Goldeneye if it was for the 360.

I agree. Playing games is the only way to mature. You'd probably faint at the first swear word you hear if it wasnt for video games. Im 10 and I play both Halo 3 and COD.

Thank you.
Also, Mass Effect is rated 12 in the UK, whereas it's M in the US. I agree with the UK rating, because the reason why it's an M has been seen in PG-13 RATED MOVIES.

Uhh people can mature just fine without videogames
Did you know that once their was a world where video games didn't exist?

Hi.
For christmas, mum(How we say Mom in british) got me Halo 3. Leter that day, dad told me NOT to play it, as the BBFC (British MPAA) rating is 15.
Now this sparks in intresting thing, if you compare Halo's content to that of CoD, Halo is no-where near inappropriate as CoD, even if they have similar reason why they are rated M in the US(CoD is 18 in the uk, so even the british know that the content in Halo as not like that of CoD)
"Bt Halo IS VIOLNT"
Sure, almost ALL games have some sort of violence in them. Mario has, Sonic has, Kirby has and so on. The alien "Blood" is almost comparable to that of glowstick liquid. The only reason why CoD got an 18 was because you arn't shooting at aliens like in Halo, but realistic (Don't troll me! Dhumans. You can kill your human allys, but this is discouraged and you will be shot at if you continue your behaviour.
"OMG SWEAR WRDS OLOLOLOLOL!"
Yes, I know. But the one SERIOUS swear I heard from a soldier (Not the sarge) was because he got in the way of Guilty Sparks lazer. That said, the swear was in the PG rated "Extraordinary Measures", and the 12A (PG-13 in the UK) rated "Son of Rambo"(Of course there is gonna be swearing in it, it's about a boy RECREATING Rambo!!). The rest of the minor launguage got into PG's and 12's, too. In other words, the only reason Halo is 15 is because of the violence.
"BUT THT DUN MAK DIFERENCE, UR STILL 2 YUNG!"
Yeah yeah. But parents really need to decide if the child getting the game is going to be mature when the mature content shows up. In other words, if the child isn't going to be silly or react in a silly way when a swear word comes up. People can't rely on the PEGI ratings forever, it's really there as a guide for parents. It isn't even backed up by law, so it's nothing more than just saying "If your going to get this game, take note that (Content) is in the game. Do you really think you and the player could be able to handle this content?"
It's very long, I know. But it's the only way you can get a point across.
Any age can play Halo. Me and my parents follow rules... at least the sensible ones. I don't follow any of that stupid rules about age rating... I played GTA at age 8, and completed Halo 1 Co-op with my father at age 7. The only rules my parents have about gaming is "Don't play too long, and don't come whining to me for a Gameshark if you can't defeat the Arbiter or something". So I advice you to argue with your father and get him to see the truth.
