Scratch

A lot of people have been asking how to remix a project. So I decided to make a forum topic about it to settle it once and for all! 

                                 =====Downloading and opening a project=====

   So, the first thing you need to know is that there is no "remix" button or anything like it. The thing that you want is the button that says "Download the ___ sprites and ___ scripts of "___" and open it in Scratch". It is located in the top-right corner, right above the project notes. Here is a picture to help:

   Click on the project name link. Then, navigate to your downloads folder. The Mac path is

Macintosh HD/users/USERNAME/Downloads

I don't know the Windows or Linux path though. If you know either one, please tell me!
   Then, move the project (If you downloaded a project called Myproject, the file will be called Myproject.sb) to the folder called "Projects" in your Scratch folder. Open Scratch, then click on the button that says "file" in the top-left corner, and select your project from there.

                                     =====Tips and tricks on remixing=====
• It is usually a good idea to save the original project as something like "myproject (original)" so that you don't have to go through part one all over again, or attempt to revert all of your changes by hand, which would be error prone.
• In your project notes, PLEASE give credit to the original author, even though it says "Based on Blah's project"
• Whenever you make a new project, not when you are remixing one, be sure to click on "file//New project" so it doesn't say that you remixed it
• It might look nice when you say what you changed to make it different, although, I don't do this. Usually. 
• Constructive criticism can't hurt.
