I actually haven't seen anyone post those links before.maybe they either want people to have a diffucult time clicking the link or they just think its neater,but usually doing "[ }" seems way neater....and prettier.

I've seen SEO spammers on the Scratch website post stuff like that before the New Scratcher rules were put into place. But I haven't seen a case of linking like that recently by anyone regardless of their Scratcher or New Scratcher status.
