A giant obsidian castle with lava pouring down the sides into a moat. It also has a button inside the castle that remote-triggers some TNT (through redstone) and blows up the bridge to the castle.

No, seriously.

Re: yay minecraft

In the past week or so I've been working on an underwater city. Once you spawn from the surface, you take a boat into the underwater realm. All of the structures and places are connected by boat roads. Minecarts are sooooo yesterday  tongue .

Here's a video of my progress

http://www.scratch.mit.edu/ext/youtube/?v=jQKOlRsT2fo

Since then the road at the end has gotten a lot longer. I just have to extend it a bit further, then I can make my first intersection...

Also I'm playing SMP (Survival Multi Player) a bit. Working on my town  wink .

I have a question though. Why would you use signs when ladders use less wood?

I'm not sure of the *exact* answer because I didn't design the system, however I think it is simply because ladders actually extend out to hit objects (it has volume), so if the boats hit them they would break, whereas signs don't really extend out (it appears to have volume but technically doesn't) so the boats don't break from it (however both prevent water from going through them). Think of signs as holograms that prevent water from going through them xD.

As for those who are wondering, the signs of course are to keep the boat at the same height, so you can go at max speed and accelerate quickly.

Oh. Couldn't you have used pressure plates, or do they have height?

Yes, you could use pressure plates. Some people when making another boat system like this actually prefer using pressure plates, because you don't have to waste time chopping down so many trees. However, pressure plates make those constant clicking noises, which annoy me  tongue
