Gameplay ideas: Your deck contains 50ish cards...?
The game is played in 5 rounds. The winner of the majority of the rounds wins. At the start of each round, you discard your hand cards, and then you can draw 6 cards for your hand. You each play a card, and attach each other. You roll a die, if the outcome is 1, 2, or 3, unless specified otherwise, the defender's Def value is taken from the attacker's attack. Instead of attacking on your turn, you can switch cards or draw a card for their hand (If it has less than 5 cards), but you may not attack. The round is over when one player loses __ of their hand cards.

Good idea, beating opponents can earn Summon points (the stronger the enemy the more points), and some cards can give you Summon points when played. Also each turn you could get a small amount so you never are unable to play a weak monster.

Wait, is "beats" the same as resistance to the type's attacks, or are their attacks stronger against it? Because you can already infer if it is stronger through that type's weaknesses.

I'm an epic fan of MTG, so this is what i think. Special cards generate summon points, and at the beginning of your turn, you gain points equal to the number of those cards you have.
I have something else but first i must ask whether or not this game is turn-based
