That's not true about staying popular. If you are gone for a while and then post a new project, only a few people come to see until you advertise again. It's a contradicting topic.

Here's a link to a guide : here I made myself, so sorry if it looks like spam. You can't get "famous", you must mean getting more views, and that's if you work hard in your projects. Then someone will notice them, recommend them to a friend and you become very well known!
P.S. - Asking curators to feature your projects won't help. big_smile

I guess if you want to become famous, how I get views is by my good friends and the forums. My friends will obviously watch my projects, even though I don't have friends for that it's just a bonus XD

I don't get many views at all unless I advertise though. If you're making a game or animation, what about advertised trailers, make an ad in your signature! Make sure its decent, you might want to get a nice editing program, GIMP is free. Or you could ask someone to make one for you.

Make sure the project idea is original. Like "Warrior's Art" is all fine and nice, but try adding more of a twist. Maybe to tell a story you'll want to write it out, or art, or animation, or game. Do whatever you're good at and love it- people will tell if you had fun making it or not, and it will affect how much they enjoy the game too. Don't make it a gimmick or short, because it might be funny at first but soon people will know it's just the same stuff over and over.

The below will help you get more views, but not guranteed. Good luck! The below was from my own post months ago. Here:

1.) Galleries
Galleries are pretty helpful. If you want any views, you can add a project with the comment. Simply, just press "add" on the gallery. Some galleries don't allow "add", and in their project notes, they say, "Give me a link to your project." or something similar. THen, post your link. Soon, you will be bound to have at least ten or more views. The views might accumalate slowly but that's okay, right?

2.) Friends
Having a ton of friends will allow them to look at your projects. The more friends, the better.

3.) Don't spam (unless it says you can in project notes, which I hardly doubt it)
Lots of Scratchers hate spam, but some, themselves, are hypocrites. LOL Just don't be one. Teeehee

4.) Be nice:COMMENT
You will get more views if you just be NICE. Mean comments, like "this sucks", is very hurtful to the creator, and nobody benefits from either way. Comment nicely and what to improve, and the creator will friend you and might view your projects. This is here a good example:
" Great project, {username}! It looks awesome game. I love how <this and this>! Maybe, you could {do improvement}. Otherwise, everything else is terrific! Coolio {love-it or favorite?}

.::::::::::Scratch Design Studio:::::::::::::.
Scratch Design Studio is a gallery with a desginated topic for Scratchers to make projects as that topic! It's the FASTEST and EASIEST way to get views! All you have to do is make a link of your project (must be related to topic in the project notes), and then, Lightnin or one of the Scratch team members will look at it, add it to the gallery, and even select as the design studio's front page section! in order to have yours on front page in that section, you must have a pretty decent project, (the ones with more effort usually get chosen) for their creativity, excellent scripting, or etc!

Just make your project good,and perhaps, it will be chosen to be on front page...for a while. Teehee Well, what are you waiting for? Get started now!

there isn't really a solid way to get famous. some get it through RPGs or art, the most common source of popularity (because most people suck at programming), making great games (what i'm doing), some through connections to people who already ARE famous. we also have people like JIM, who made yet another scratch weekly newspaper and got really lucky. and he's told everyone about ---EPIC--- who isn't that great at scratching (though it's hard to say, because he's very new) and now fairly well known.

When people say that popularity doesn't come from good projects, look at RHY3756547, or 08jackt. And i've uploaded one project called HIVE, and from the progress on that, i've gotten fairly popular, and am being noticed by the more famous. That's ONE project. so don't say it can't come from good projects, because it normally DOES.

Getting famous is a contradicting topic and there is various ways to get to front page and be "popular". Yes, you are correct, WarHunter, but some Scratchers do get "famous" for not having good projects, which I find really weird.

But, the main thing is to have fun no matter how popular you are! That's what Scratching is all about!! tongue
