Minecraft is a sort of an adventure/survival/Build your own game. You are placed in a randomly generated world with nothing on you, and at first you have to build a simple shelter and survive, but then you can do whatever you want to after that, like build a castle, make a minecart subway. Just google it, I can't explain it very well, but it's an awesome game

I think it does work on Macs, and it's around $15 dollars for beta. Buy it quickly before the price jumps to $20.

Right click to put blocks, if you're in Survival mode you have to collect them though, e.g. by left clicking on a tree's logs. To craft press the "I" key and drag stuff to the 4x4 space. You can check the crafting guide for help (the basic recipes are probably all you need to know by now), and be sure to check the Begginer's Guide too. 

If you're playing Creative mode though, just press B to choose blocks, right click to put them and left to delete them.
