Re: this weekend?

It's only for the weekend and it isn't like Scratch is an online app.  You can still create stuff offline.

Besides any reason to take the server offline must be good...

...New Dell rack server - w00t  big_smile   Lol (I'm joking).

Re: this weekend?

I bet they're updating the server to support the 1.3 applet so the new Scratch can finally be released!

AGH! That felt like a bucket of ice water! Yeah actually I'm totally fine with the current Scratch.

Well no, I'm not saying you don't have to be excited - I just wanted to know what everyone was getting excited about?

Although I do agree the current Scratch is decent - then again the PS2 was decent but the PS3 is better.  Updates can never do harm...or so we think...

Re: this weekend?

Yep, there are show and hide blocks for variable counters, a system to stick comments in your project and lists which are variables with multiple values. You can use these lists to save a lot of different variables or record certain events every frame of a simulation, almost like an array. I'm very excited so I can post my projects online.

Re: this weekend?

Hey everyone - YES, we will be offline this weekend...NO, we won't be releasing a new version of Scratch quite yet...

The Media Lab will be doing some updates to the servers here, and since our site is run through the servers, we will be affected.  We should be back up again after the weekend.  And yes, you can always create projects offline and upload them once we are up and running again  smile
