To say Happy New Year, here's a few tips on fame.
I've just got famous, since my projects are getting front-paged now, so my tips are:
Create a project that you would think is suitable for the front page. Think - it should have one thing at least that stands out to make it look great. For example, my 50 Levels project: it had 50 levels.
Thumbnail image and graphics - The thumbnail image is a screenshot of your project at the time of upload. If you have the screen frozen on the title screen (a popular choice) make sure the title screen looks proffessional and dramatic. If you have it frozen on the gameplay or screenplay, make sure it's frozen at the best and most dramatic looking part of the game.
Show and Tell - This is really important. Advertise with a title that is not something like 'OMG LOOK HERE BEST THING EVER', but put a title that bears the truth, but in a good way, for example: 'Fun platformer with amazing graphics!'. When writing the information, use PROPER ENGLISH, including good punctuation, or people will just think of you as some kind of average Scratcher. Write all the key and good features, and put the link to the project near the top.
Your signature: This is very important, too. For your signature, put a linked picture of your project. People will click on it sometimes when you post something new in a forum-topic, thus more views.
Make friends and comment: If you make friends, they are likely to view your projects. Don't just click 'add as a friend' - find someone who shares some of the same interests as you, or comment on their projects, whether your saying that their project is good or that your just having a chat. Try and build a small relationship with them (not a love relationship, XD) and sometimes just discretely put a link to your project in the comments, saying things like 'Hey, I think you might want to check this out. I worked all day on it.' Also, when you make friends, they can see your projects in the 'My friends latest project' row on the front page.
I hope that helped.

It's got different ideas/tips so it's not a duplicate. It's just for the same benefit.
