How do I make a side-scrolling Scratch project?
Lots of games on Scratch use side-scrolling to create levels that are much larger than the Scratch stage. At first, this might seem impossible, since sprites can't be larger than 480x360 pixels, the size we have to work with on Scratch. However, using two sprites with an identical set of costumes and a little math, it's possible to get a very nice scrolling effect. This project by Archmage is a fantastic place to start if you're new to creating scrolling games -- it includes character movement and projectile logic.
See the Scratch Wiki article for more information about scrolling.
