I've seen this happening a lot... Usually it's new users, but not always.
A user posts a perfectly normal post, but then randomly puts something like this at the end of it:
[blocks]<play sound[ BANANA[/blocks]
Why exactly do people do this? Are they experimenting with the blocks, or is it some kind of modern spam?

I'd say that nearly all of the spam we get is posts like such:

Generally, it's just new users getting used to the site. If they do this excessively, they may get a notification from the Scratch Team. But if they just make one or two posts, it's not that big a deal, so we just remove it.
