I have found records of my great great great great great great great great grandfather from 1627.
How far can you trace your ancestry?
Oh, and does anyone know
The "Engelshall" family?
The "Becker" family?
The "Busch" family?
The "Maurer" family?

Off the top of my head I only know back to 1890-something
And that was my great grandparents on my father's side I believe, and they lived in Ireland until 1900-something when they moved to America or something
I don't know, I did a project about this two years ago

My greatgreatgreatgreatgreat (about 10 greats) grandfather first appeared in an undisclosed Slovakian village around 1690. My third cousin once removed still lives there.

If at first you don't secede... try again!
Maybe your constitutional right to do so won't be taken this time?

Yes.
But no religious debates.
And I think he meant like how far you can trace it while knowing at least one parent from every generation in between.

Sadly, I'm only able to trace it three generations back, and I wish I could trace it back further. But I find it pretty significant still; it ends up I'm related to a royal Muslim family, which is pretty interesting.

My aunt traces our lineage but I don't know how far she's gotten. It's at least 5 generations though.
