I understand that users on this thread want to express their opinions over this matter, but please don't let the emotion get the better of you. Try to express your opinion in a respectful way so that no one feels hurt by your posts.
Glitchfinder, you are welcome in the Scratch community so long as you obey the terms of use. There is no reason you should feel pressured to leave by other users or by a competition.
Scratch is not some "survival of the fittest" site. Artists, animators, programmers, game-makers, anyone and everyone is welcome on this site.
I've taken a long hiatus, but I still visit sometimes. Give me some time to answer any messages you post on my projects!

It's unfortunate you experienced almost nothing but derogatory users on this thread, but believe me the supportive users outweigh them. Just keep persevering and don't let them bug you.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
There have been a lot of harsh words said here. A little competition can be fun and motivating. But when it gets mean-spirited and destructive you need to step back and think about what you are doing. Let's keep it friendly so that everybody can continue to enjoy Scratch.
