Hey AwesomeFilms, what ESN says is right - title change is dependent on website activity.
As for being unable to suggest improvements to Scratch - don't fret! You can still do that by posting in the Suggestions forum.

Just participate, and it will go away. Glad you are so interested in helping though.

As people have said, just stay active and helpful and you'll get Scratcher soon!

@AwesomeFilms i am in the same situation as you.
Let's hope that by contributing to the community we will see soon the results

Yeah, it's annoying.
I got to scratcher after 20 posts so I was lucky.
The text based games(see Miscellaneous) are seperate from the main forums so they don't have the same ranking.
The TBG's are a lot harder to upgrade on. I currently have 139 posts and I still have the 100 second rule

It's actually quite possible to get the title New Scratcher with only a handful of forum posts - since the status change is also dependent on main site activity (like uploading Scratch projects), it is likely that this was the contributing factor for your title change.
Not sure about how the TBG title changes work though ^^;

Can someone look into my case then? I've been busy with work lately so I may have fallen off of the radar but I think I was getting Scratcher soon and then they forgot about me

Maybe it might be a good idea to contact the Scratch Team about the issue. I'm not exactly sure about how the status changes are done around here on the forums, I only know that activity plays a huge role in the title change.

I want to become a scratcher NAO! Is there a slightly easier way?

Do you mean how many seconds you have to wait before posting another post? I have to wait 360 secs. (6 minutes!)
When you become a Scratcher does that change?

Why do you have to wait so long?

The long wait between posts for New Scratchers was put in due to spam (both commercial and just plain random). The time between posts does decrease when you become a Scratcher, though - to 60 seconds
It may seem like a long time between posts now, but, when the New Scratcher rule was first used, New Scratchers had to wait around 17 minutes between posts - although, now that the spam level has dropped, the time has come down, too.
Perhaps you could use the time to look at projects/work on a project?

I've been here a week and a day, made 3 projects, have 33 forum posts, and have made 31 comments. Do you think I'll get my status changed soon?

Thanks for all your help!

@MiffinTheMuffin - I've seen you around a lot lately, so you should get it soon. I have a feeling that the minimum time for "upgrading" for relatively active members is a month, because my changing happened exactly a month (I think) after I signed up!

I've been around for quite a few months, but I haven't done any projects (I've played some games though) and I'm still a New Scratcher. Making games will probably be what gets you there!

I never experienced the effect of New Scratcher rank, as I probably went to the forums LONG after I got to scratcher.

i didn't really pay attention to when I turned into a scratcher but.try
all these on this checklist:
1.upload a project
2.upload another
3.tag a project
4.love a project
5.favorite a project
6.someone tags your project
7.someone loves your project
8.someone favorites your project
9.add someone as a friend or someone adds you.
10.lurk around forums
also
comment on a project
someone comments on your project
you reply to someone
someone replies to you

Yes, pretty soon though the number of comments, forum posts, and projects are not everything. It also depends on the amount of time you have been on Scratch. I'm not really sure because when I started into forums, I was automatically a New Scratcher even though I was on for...seven months. After a while, I wasn't on forums very much with only one post and when I checked back after a month later, I was a Scratcher...
