....:::: "Folders" in the sprite list ::::....
I think adding a folder system (like the library in flash) to the sprite list (on the right, below the stage) would be a good addition to help making scratch projects more understandable. Especially for projects with a lot of sprites.
An example: you have a project with a number of balls in it, a few label-sprites, and a few miscellaneous sprites. I think it is useful to put all the ball-sprites into the folder "balls" and all labels into the folder "labels".
It also would be useful when the costum blocks are added - you can put them in a separate folder.
What do you think about this?

I like the sprite folder idea. It would help organize things during development and...it could aid in the implementation of new blocks that act on classes of sprites, such as "When Touching a Ball" or such. That would be really great!

Definately, this is one of the things that has held Scratch. If you could organize sprites it woudl be much easier to build big projects with lots of sprites.

... And that was a MEGA-BUMP!
I support this idea... And I'm sure nearly everyone's suggested it at some point.
I could feel that bump from miles away, it nearly knocked the lamp off my desk. I support too by the way.

This would help keep sprites organized!

a sensing block could be added reading "if touching sprite from folder ______"

That wouldn't be necessary because all sprites still has to have it's own name. But maybe in sprite lists, there is a bracket telling us which folder it's in.
Also, this might be kinda confusing for new users, I still think we should have a version for new scratchers, and a Scratch Extended for advanced users.
