That's what it was like before - Not all projects got on the newest projects, so they had to change it to this.

not that it shows the newest every five minutes, but each time you refresh, it shows the 3 that were most recently uploaded, even if you refresh 5 times a minute

The Scratch website servers only have a limited amount of processing power - refreshing the newest project list every time a project is uploaded would take an awful lot of power.

Yes!! I'm so glad you did this for design studio! big_smile i think it would be nice to have the other rows like this but i'm not sure how many others would agree... and the people who get on those rows a lot probably wouldn't like that.... it could choose from like the top 10-20 or something

How long is "new project" defined as? Is it an hour, or a day, or is it something else?

i am against the idea of having the 'what the community is...' show random projects. it would make it harder to have milestones, like:

Date; 1st top loved
Date; 2nd top viewed
Date; 1st top viewed

i like it for newest and design studio, but if you want more random stuff, just vote here.

Are you sure that what you are seeing is abuse? When we see giant streams of projects that look the same but are shared by different accounts, the culprit is usually a school / classroom.

Even if it is someone trying to get their project viewed by sharing it to a lot of accounts - there's really not much advantage to this. Each project will only get a few views / love its / comments, and it's not likely to add up to much. And of course when we discover people attempting to game the homepage, we block them for going against the Terms of Use.
