Today, at recess, I was playing Ball Freeze Tag (a game we made up where the person who's it throws a ball at people, and if they get hit they are frozen until someone else tags them. If someone is hit 3 times, they're it.) with my friends, when...well, I wrote a story about it. I had to use numbers to represent people, so that I don't use their real names without permission.
Here are some of the people involved, I couldn't put their real names, but you should have a little idea of who they are:
[1]- My friend who I play Ball freeze tag with, along with my other friends who I don't mention in the story. [boy]
[2]- A kid who I sorta know, but he's not bad. [boy]
[3]- One of my other friends who I play ball freeze tag with. [girl]
[4]- A kid who I hate, and most people hate him. [boy]
There were more people involved but I didn't have to mention their names. Here you go:
The Story:
"Ha! Got you, [1]!" I shouted in victory as the mini soccer ball hit his side. "Frozen!"
"Wait...time out!" said [1], suddenly, as he ran toward the edge of the field. I looked in the direction he was headed, and saw a growing mob of kids, crowding around one spot.
I followed him, and shoved my way through the crowd. I expected someone was handing out candy or something. As I pushed through all the crowding kids, I heard murmurs of "Uh-oh" and "is he gonna be OK?"'s. This definitely wasn't candy.
When I finally squished through the frenzy, I saw nothing. Nothing until, I looked down, that is. A boy. I recognized him, It was [2]. He was in my class, but we didn't talk very much. He was in my class back in the 6th grade, too. He wasn't a bad kid, sure, he was inappropriate at times, and he wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer, but he was a good kid. Especially compared to most of the boys in our school. He was just lying there, twitching. At first I thought it was a joke. No. It was real. I just starred in horror as he seized on the ground. Suddenly, the nurse came in through the crowd of 7th graders. She took out her stethoscope, and put it against his chest. The lunchroom moderator then shooed us away.
I stumbled backwards, and turned to my friends. Their faces were pale, a look of pure fear was plastered onto them. I guessed that was how I looked, too.
"O-ok, guys. Ready t-to continue playing?" I said, getting ready to through the ball.
"WAIT!" Shouted [3], quickly, "I'm still on timeout!" and she scurried to base, a bench at the edge of the astro-turf field.
"Me too!" said the others, following her lead. I sighed as I made my way to base, too, even though I was it, what's the point of standing in a field alone? I sat on the bench, taking care as to avoid the wet spots made by melted snow and ice. I looked around. Everyone who I was playing with was on base. Now, we have a rule that, if everyone is on base, I can count to 10, and they all have to leave. For some reason, I didn't. I was surprised [1] wasn't running around. He always did when everyone else was being lazy. I guessed he was just feeling like I was. Too sad and depressed to try and have fun. Just seeing [2]...how could you try to have fun after seeing that? I leaned back on the bench, getting the back of my gray hoodie wet. I didn't care.
Suddenly, the whistle blew. That meant recess was over. "I-I guess...it's time to go now, right?" Said [1], confused. He was pretty out of it. Well, I was too. So were the others. We all were.
As we made our way to the building, we saw ambulances pulling up near the school. Me, [3], and the others were the first to leave the field. We walked up the steps to the middle school floor, the fourth floor, and saw our 6th grade teacher Ms. [not telling you].
"How are you girls doing?" She said as she headed down stairs to pick up the 6th graders from lunch. [1] wasn't with us at this moment, neither was [3]. My other friends were, by the way.
"Ok..." I replied. "Today was a pretty...scary day."
She walked on. I heard [3] as I headed to class.
"[2] GOT PARALYZED!" I heard her say to Ms. [not telling you]. I didn't hear the rest, I walked into math class. Of course, everyone crowded around the window. It had an almost perfect view of the recess yard. I looked, too. There were people crowding around him. Police, doctors, and...firefighters? Whatever. Soon, my math teacher made us sit down.
"I feel so bad for [2]..." One of my friends said to me.
"Me too..." I agreed.
"I feel so...guilty..." He sighed.
"Why?" I asked.
"Because...we are just bystanders. I wonder what will happen to [4]..." He replied.
"[4]? What did [4] do?" I questioned.
"He tackled [2]. That's what I've heard." He shrugged.
"Oh..."
Then, I had to take a dumb unit test. The most important test of the unit. I hardly understood it. And 2 of the best student teachers left. What a great day.![]()
Now there are tons of rumors about what will happen to [2]. And rumors about how they will punish [4].
I usually don't right stories like this, you know, epic and serious, and not funny, but, I felt I should make an exception for this.
Man...I sure hope [2] is OK...

Reminds me of the time my friend [0]'s pupils dialated and he crashed into a wall
At first we thought it was funny but then we realized he could not see
He had to get picked up and brought to the hospital
We joke about it now

One time, in 3rd grade, some kid in my sister's class have to get his toes cut off cause a horse stepped on it. It still creeps me out...
My friend in another school says that she bumped into another kid and passed out, and had to go to the hospital on field day. We joke about that a lot.

Because, saying "this is exactly what happened" Would be wrong cause I...uh, don't have the BEST memory.
I didn't make it up, though. It really happened, but I didn't ADD anything fake. I just left out what I couldn't remember. :3 I don't know if he's paralyzed, but there's a rumor that he is. D:

If [4] tackled [2] for a reason, he could get charged for aggravated assault.

Yep. I heard [2] was just play wrestling with his friend (not sure who), and [4] came out of no where and jumped on his head. I don't think he meant to hurt him, but...

Once an old guy on an electric scooter was run over by a garbage truck in front of my dads office building.

I totally regret reading this.
Thank you for making me shed tears. I just hope [2]'s okay. It must feel so awful to know that happened to someone.
I'm not kidding. This made me cry so much I had to get a bowl.
I can kind of relate to this type of thing. One time at my old school, a girl was playing on the monkey-bars, and she fell down and hit her head -- hard. The police had to come to check it out, and everyone was sent back to their classrooms. Luckily, it wasn't anything too serious, so she was okay after that.
I just hate that stupid kid, [4]. Why did he have to do that? Was he really that aggravated to actually paralyze someone? Oh my god.
Still, I feel super bad. Hopefully, he might be just fine, and he'll be back up on his feet in no time. Just some words of encouragement.

O__________________O *twitch* That poor dude! D: Did you see it happen? Did the dude die? That's horrible! What happened to the truck driver? Well, at least he was an old guy. I'm sure he didn't have as much life to look forward to as [2]. But still, I feel bad for that old guy...D:

I doubt you really cried that much. xD
I'm lucky he wasn't my friend. No one cried, so I guess his friends aren't really that great friends...I wonder if MY friends, like [1] and [3], would cry if that happened to me...I would if it happened to them...

I didn't see it happen. My Dad said someone told him in his office, and then he went downstairs and saw them pulling him out from under the truck. He died in the hospital.
He also lost his foot......it really creeped me out when my Dad told me (He didn't make it up. It was on the news)

That's really sad.
I sat on my thumb today, and bent it backwards. It really hurt! Imagine getting kicked in the head!
These aren't so dramatic, but I'll tell them anyway...
My friend fell down two fights of concrete stairs at school. Okay, she already has a dodgy hip, but her hip popped out of joint really bad.
She might need surgery to fix it someday.
One of my other friends doesn't have feeling in one foot, so he walks with one foot sticking outwards. He has a hole in his spine and he might need a muscle transplant and an operation to fix his spine.
I watched someone slip over on the ice at school last week. She broke and shattered her arm. She'll be in a cast for YEAR. Shame she can't sue the school!
My ex-friend's sister was apparently dying (I don't trust her) because of her thyroid.
One kid att my old school was in hospital with pneumonia.
And I've had my super-dramatic operation too. So yeah, our school has had it's fair share of tragedy.

What's actually the worst you've had? The worst I've had is my surgery on my ankle, though I won't go into details you want me to.
