c++ block'd

If Web Blox can create php, css, html, Xml and other web programming things using Scratch as a base, then why can't we make a Blox based programming language for c++ ?

It might be hard, it might take months, but in the end i know you and I, we could do it!  Let us prove that c++ can be simplified to convert to blox!

Re: c++ block'd

Very nice idea. I would join in if I wasn't already making another one secretly.
I guess it's no so secret anymore, is it?

Well, it's going to be called VBingo and it is recreating VB modules, which then can be opened up in Visual Studio express and compiled into EXEs. I'm currently working on a project of mine in VB though, so this is postponed to a later, not known date.

Good luck for C++, it is possible!
But don't get your hopes high about the compiler. Those languages are amazing, believe me. I suggest you delegate it to some free software like VS2010 or Dev-C++

CodeBlocks is an IDE, not a compiler, it can use any compiler if told to, the default is MinGW.

I think using MinGW as the compiler would be a good idea.

Re: c++ block'd

Making "c++ block'd" would be very cool, though how would you handle the code for all the external libraries and all the methods and libraries of the language itself?

Re: c++ block'd

miniC++ uses BYOB to make a C++-like environment. The creator said he was going to add more commands and a "Compile" block, too, but the last comment on the project was 1 week ago, and the thread about it (which I can't find) is long dead...

I think just making a whole new mod would be better then trying to use an existing mods especially since we are going to have access to MinGW or whatever compiler we choose

I program in c++ and you would need 9.987*10^9838 blocks to cover all of c++.
plus you need class makers , database makers , syntax debugging,  debugging , class downlands , name spaces ... the list is endless.

a-n-d most importantly 1 mistake could possibly DELETE EVERYTHING ON YOUR COMPUTER
