I was wondering if it was possible to update the project import in the 'extras' so that a project is imported not as all the sprites w/ scripts but rather as a finished 'read only' styled project. Also along with this, a new section under brodcast could be introduced to start up a imported project ,simulating as if the green flag for this project was clicked. Personally I think this would be a great way to inspire many new ideas and uses including turning diffrent 'simulation projects' into games or presintations without having a massive amount of sprites gloging up the sprite box.

I had to do that with PixBites 2.0. All the programs were made seperately then imported into the project. Then I had to re-program it. If you know what you're doing, it's quite easy. Time consuming, yes, but still easy. Also, Scratch is just supposed to use essential blocks. In other programming languages, there isn't a script like that. You would have to somehow make one, or improvise.

If it was Read Only, you couldn't really adapt it to work with your vision of your project. You could only use it the way the original creator made it. In that sense, I think it would hinder creativity.

what I think it would be great for is say you have a couple of projects, partly connected to eachother, with similar sprites. You want to now connect them all up into one project, however the large quantity of sprites (I know some of my games have over 30 sprites each) can easily overwhelm and confuse you. Useing this optional feture you could import them as projects, and not sprites, mabye by double clicking on one project or having them in tabs could help fine tuning (fair enough the 'read only' statement was not a good idea).
