A reindeer's tail
Chapter 1
The Reindeer
"A reindeer, a reindeer, come look, come look!"
I sighed. She's like this every Christmas. I set my hot apple cider down to get her some eggnog. "We've talked about this before. Reindeer don't fly."
"But this one doesn't! It's just a baby!"
I would've chuckled if I hadn't seen the reindeer calf outside in the blizzard.
I dashed into the blizzard.
As I picked up the reindeer and turned to the barn, I thought, "Where's my common sense?" and took it to the house.
"What's it's name?"
She looked around the room, and stopped on it's fluffy cotton tail.
"Cotton. Let's name it Cotton."
It smiled. Cotton jumped on me.
"Come on, Cotton! Let's go!"
It took a bounding leap out the door.
It suddenly stopped.
"What's wrong?"
"I don't know."
It echoed in my head once.
"Was that you?"
Cotton grinned.
"Yeah. It's me."
Chapter 2
The Happening
I look at Cotton.
"Okay..."
We walk back to the house, blizzard still raging and the fireplace blazing, but something is different. I clutch the door handle... It's frozen shut!"
Cotton tries to pull me through. I hit the door. She tries again, and I brace for pain, but...
I got through.
"How...?"
She nudges my sister off the couch.
"Get up, get up!"
She prances around her.
"I'm up, I'm up!'
I grab a lighter, and I flick it on. It's frozen over. I keep trying to turn it on...
It burns my hand! I stumble back, dropping the lighter, and it ignites the floor. The rug sets alight, in turn setting the couch and my shoes on fire. My picture of me in 3rd grade sets alight, along with the hallway. All my pictures fall to the floor, and they set on fire. The whole house sets ablaze, and I black out.

Excuse me, but I write books, and you should know that books take months, even years, to finish. And this book is actually one I'm rushing. I have lots of homework, and I have afterschool activities. Oh, and Werdna, thanks! I'm glad that some people like my books.

Yeah, it's not good enough to be published, but it's still really good! Better than what I could do when I was 8! Keep writing and when your like 13/14 you'll be amazing!
