Are you good at Scratch?
Well then I give you a challenge:
Program an AI to play Scratch Hockey.
Once I get enough responses, I will judge them, and the winner will get a couple of prizes (there's a chance of love-its and advertising in my signature…)
If you don't know, Scratch hockey is a game where 1 ball moves around on a table. If it enters your goal, you lose. But, you can defend your goal because the ball will bounce off you. So you program your movements which can be used to make the ball move the way you want it to!
How will this work?
Ok, start by downloading the latest remix of this project, the base engine. Open the sprite named EDITME. There will be many stacked "if" blocks in one of the scripts, mostly empty. Choose any one, and where it says "your name here" type your username. Program in the if block that says "program in this block".
Now, upload the remix here. Anybody viewing the project will be able to play you!!
Notes, rules, and other important things:
•You may not edit anything besides that if block.
•You may only use motion and variable stack blocks, along with wait until and all "c" blocks. You may also use all reporters and booleans.
•Your player must stay on your half of the screen at all times.
•I suggest you study the ball's scripts first to get an idea for how it responds to different conditions.
So start programming!
