I don't even know the difference between heavy metal and hard rock and regular rock and whatever
Theres too many subgenres these days
Does Led Zeppelin count as heavy metal?
It should if it doesn't
One by Metallica is nice
My mom likes Bulls on Parade by Rage Against the Machine
It's okay too I guess

System of a Down is alternative metal, Linkin Park is nu-metal, Rage Against the Machine is rap metal, Metallica is thrash metal (though the album "One" comes from was more heavy metal than thrash), and Bullet for my Valentine is metalcore...
Neither of them are what I'd consider heavy metal, though they still derive from it
When I think heavy metal I think Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, you know, classic metal.
Let's just make this a discussion for all metal and derivated genres

It sounds more like hard rock to me, though Wikipedia says it's considered heavy metal too, it's just one of the early bands that started the whole metal movement

This is my definition:
Heavy (German/Spongebob) Metal
Heavy Rock
Rock
Thats my personal opinion. Others may disagree.

Yeah, I personally prefer the sub-gneres. But Iron Maiden and Judas Priest are good too.

I have a loose definition of metal, but:
Metallica, Black Sabbath, Ozzy, System Of A Down, Drowning Pool, Megadeth, Tesla, Pantera, Rammstein, Suicidal Tendencies
That would be my definition of "metal". However, you can't count out:
Linkin Park, Dragonforce, Blind Guardian, Motley Crue, Twisted Sister, KISS, GNR
I understand some of you may disagree (and I think I missed a couple bands), but whatever. Like I said, I have a very loose definition of what makes "metal" metal.
[Now metal is starting to look weird]
So ya...

In the end is definitely not even close to heavy metal.
