Sangle OS and Project Philosophy

This is about something made 2 years ago and more- you 2010 generation will have no idea about what I'm talking about, but still read about philosophy.  smile

I thought Sangle OS was going to be released two months ago when I actually finished it, working file system and all.

I realized, what’s the point? Why have this “beautiful” rubbish when you can have something that is thought out and pointed more at the user? You don’t need a giant, complicated, control center of everything. Just something as small as possible, as thought out as possible, as simple as possible.

That’s when I started Orion. Originally, Orion OS was to be based on Sangle, but Sangle was a prototype, and that’s all it will be. Orion OS is starting anew, and creating something that matters to the user. It’ll use Scratch 2.0’s internet compatibility to the maximum, and it will also be compatible with most mobile devices(that can run Scratch). It’ll be a beautiful way to organize, manage, and store all your games and Scratch projects in one place.

The best thing is that you can use minimal programming to make your projects compatible. There are no “windows” or anything like that, just the game. You just need to add some broadcast loops instead of green flags and stop the loops when the game is closed, and some memory storage.

The user will be able to multitask beautifully and other things. The OS will not be clogged with all of the unusefulness that was Sangle OS.

It was fun working on Sangle and I hope people recognize it as a working prototype.

I also hope people like Orion OS for its concern for the user, and not its concern for graphics or anything like that.

What do you think about projects and how they should be made? Post something. I'd like to hear about it.

Re: Sangle OS and Project Philosophy

You could use the same concept as ScratchJR, but use the variable BlockValue to add values to blocks, then it writes the script into a file on the hard drive.

What's Scratch JR?
