8-Bit Scratchers Music Colab

I was thinking how awesome it would be if we made a 8 bit album!

If you are new to 8 bit music, I strongly reccomend Famitracker as a starter.

Hmmm, cool, I'll download it to mess with it. If I make anything decent I'll let you know  smile

Re: 8-Bit Scratchers Music Colab

The program is kinda confusing, but I already figured out how to put notes, use some effects and the whole instruments thing. But how do you add drums, do you make them with the noise channel or import samples?

Here's how you add drums:

1. Go to 8bc

2. Go to the forums

3. Search for some DPCM files

4. Download them

5. Click on your instrument and go to the DPCM tab

6. Find the folder you downloaded and direct it there, then import the samples

7. Select which one you want

8. Click on the key you want to assign it to on the left

9. There we go!

Oh, and next to the notes, there's a blank column. That's for controlling volume. So if you want a note to stop, set it to 0.

C is the highest volume and 0 is the lowest.

It goes:

Highest Volume C-B-A-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1-0 Lowest Volume

Re: 8-Bit Scratchers Music Colab

I've got a pretty cool track... gonna do some some rapping over it.

Even though white rappers usually suck.

Especially ones who have squeaky voices and are 12 years old

I have a really deep voice, I'd help you but I don't have a mic D:

I'm making a sad, rock ballad-ish song.

Here's what I have so far, but I think the intro is a bit too long and I was thinking rock while composing it. Oh well, I was just experimenting: http://www.mediafire.com/?dbnpcfutxbf61uf

Click the record button and then press your keyboard's keys (they're arranged like a musical keyboard) to add notes.

No title yet D: Maybe a reference to some NES game would be good lol. Like "Game Over" or "The Princess is on Another Castle", something cheesy and fun like that  lol  Let's go with the latter unless I come up with something else  smile

Ah, that too

Try messing around with the instrument options to get different sounds, some slight Duty/Noise and a decreasing volume can give a nice piano-like sound per example  smile
